Majalah PC Media terbaru kembali terbit. Di edisi 10/2007 ini, PCMAV RC20 juga secara resmi dirilis ke publik. Kali ini, PCMAV berhasil mengenali 1121 virus yang banyak beredar di Indonesia. Selain penambahan pada database signature virus, PCMAV juga dilengkapi dengan engine scan dan cleaner khusus, agar dapat mengatasi virus komputer yang banyak dilaporkan oleh pembaca seperti contohnya virus Gen.VBWG-Intan yang ditengarai merupakan virus hasil generate sebuah Virus Generator buatan lokal yang dapat menginfeksi file dokumen Microsoft Word.



BETA: ENGINE CLAMAV 0.9x
Di RC20 ini, penggunaan engine ClamAV seri 0.9x terbaru mulai dapat dimanfaatkan. Walau masih sebatas penggunaan internal di Labs Antivirus PC Media dan direncanakan diimplementasikan secara resmi di PCMAV 2.0 nanti, namun Anda juga dapat mulai memanfaatkannya. Silahkan download file SINI .
Lalu ekstraklah dua buah file dari file 7z tersebut: LIBCLAMAV.DLL & PTHREADVC2.DLL ke dalam folder di mana PCMAV RC20 berada. Jangan lupa untuk mendownload database CVD terbaru (lihat README.TXT).Jika berhasil, Anda akan mendapatkan lebih dari 150.000 virus signature. Di engine ClamAV seri 0.8x, PCMAV hanya mampu membaca 90.000-an virus signature. Walau begitu, PCMAV 1.0 RC20 mampu memanfaatkan kedua seri engine ClamAV yang ada, baik seri 0.8x maupun 0.9x.

Freeware Kens Spam Filter 1.00

Description: Kens Spam Filter totally Blocks spam, it sits in between your normal mail program and the outside world, everything you send passes out through the filter, and everything you receive also passes through it.

It has two lists, a list of email addresses from whom it will accept mail, and a list of email addresses that it will reject mail from.

When a message arrives from an unknown user the message is held and a reply generated and sent back to the sender asking them to reply back with a subject line that contains a keyword, this keyword is the letters KSF followed by a short serial number.

If they reply back, all future messages from that person will pass through the filter, and all presently held messages from that email address will be released.

If they don't reply any future messages from them will be ignored, most spammers don't even use real addresses, so they won't ever see the registration request.

On the sending side things work in a similar way, anyone you write to is automatically added to the friends list, so when they reply to you they will not be asked to register as they have already been registered by the simple act of you writing to them.

You can of course manage the allow and blocked mail lists manually, but why bother, unless of course a spammer manages to send you a password, if that happens simply add them to the blocked list and forget about them.

PC-MAV RC18

Ketika pertama kali menjalankan PC Media Antivirus (PCMAV) RC18, pertama kali dari DVD majalah PC Media Edisi 08/2007, terlihat Engine Versionnya adalah 1068 dengan Virus Signature sejumlah 955 Virus. Tidak seperti versi-versi sebelumnya, sebelum masuk jendela utama, muncul kotak informasi yang memberitahukan bahwa update PC Media telah tersedia beserta link downloadnya serta instruksi untuk menyimpan file update tersebut pada direktori yang sama dengan file PCMAV yang lain.

Fitur notifikasi online update ini memnag baru hadir pada versi ini. Dengan tambahan file update tersebut, kini PCMAV mempunyai Engine Version 1094 dan Virus Signature sejumlah 981 virus. Tentunya versi dan jumlah virus ini akan bertambah seiring ketersediaan updatenya sampai rilis bulan depan. Apabila diintegrasikan dengan ClamAV, fitur “Get Updates” juga akan menginformasikan definisi virus terbaru dari ClamAV.



Penambahan virus baru yang dikenali pada rilis kali ini antara lain: Aksika-Itong, Aksika.N, Alonso, AmIRobot, Angelo, Arzon, BlackLove.C, BlackStar, Borax.D, Chasnah.B, Chasnah.C, Chasnah.D, Curhat.B, Delf, DoomBringer.
